Flyz App

Gaming on the go is becoming more and more popular as transportable units, especially cell phones, become more and more advanced.  From word games to matching games, hundreds if not thousands of apps have been developed for the iPhone in an effort to make sure that if you want entertainment, you’re going to get it. Some of these games are inspired by a different kind of game – the kind of game that Space Invaders, one of my favorite games, is.

Flyz is one of those games.   In this Space Invaders inspired game, a lizard takes the place of the player’s avatar, while flies and wasps take on the role of the titular space invaders. It’s simple enough – tap the spot on the screen where you want the lizard to lash out with its tongue, and it’ll take on and eat that unfortunate yet oh so yummy bug.

The objective is to capture all those bugs – once you clear them, you proceed to the next, more difficult level. Missing too many bugs ends up with your little lizard friend starves, ending that game.

As you can read, gameplay is very simple. Happily, it follows the formula that its predecessors have set before it, a formula that remains addictive and appealing to anyone with a five or ten minutes to burn.

Sadly, this isn’t a game that truly outshines its many competitors.  A lot of other apps and games available for the iPhone are much more entertaining, more rewarding and are just plain better done than this game.

Of course, most of those games aren’t priced quite as low, which could tip the odds in the favor of Flyz as your choice of game.  The game carries with it ads, but nothing too distracting.

There really isn’t much to say about Flyz, aside from it being a simple and easy to understand game.  It’s really cheap – maybe you’ll find it more appealing than I did.
